01 OVERALL OUTLOOK The LSU Tigers enter the 2026 season as one of the most fascinating experiments in college football: a first-year head coach with a $40 million transfer-built roster, a top-ten FPI rating, and a schedule that will test them from the opening weekend. The team has not played a game yet, so there are no results to grade — but the market and the models both see a competitive SEC contender. FPI ranks LSU ninth nationally at 20.03 1, and the betting market holds an 8.5-win total with +700 odds to win the SEC 51. The projections see 7.6 expected wins across the remaining schedule 1. The season will be decided by three things. First, whether quarterback Sam Leavitt's foot rehab — which cost him spring practice — translates into timing with a rebuilt receiving corps by September 5 367. Second, whether Lane Kiffin's "first real running game since 2019" install actually materializes against SEC fronts, or whether it is a preseason talking point that evaporates on third- and-long 2935. Third, whether the offensive line holds together — a unit that has already seen projected starter Weston Davis miss practice and is still described as "needs work" nine days into camp 2542. If those three things go right, this is a playoff team. If one goes wrong, the nine-game SEC schedule will find it quickly. 02 VISUAL ANALYTICS Generated directly from the CollegeFootballData feeds for this matchup. The same visuals appear on every report, so numbers can be compared like- for-like from one game to the next. SEASON RESULTS · Scoring margin for every completed game. Wins are in the team's color, losses in the contrast color, so blowouts and near-misses are separable at a glance. EFFICIENCY PROFILE · Every advanced metric converted to a national percentile against all FBS teams, so the outer ring is always better regardless of which way the raw stat runs. FORM TREND · Week-by-week predicted points added on both sides of the ball. This is where a team trending up or sliding shows through, which season averages hide. TOP INDIVIDUAL IMPACT · The players who have actually moved the needle this season. Cross-reference against the injury and roster sections. THE ROAD AHEAD · Projected margin for every remaining game, from the SP+/FPI/Elo consensus with home-field advantage — the same baseline the matchup reports use. Bars below zero are games the ratings say this team should lose. 03 THE SEASON: PLAYED AND PROJECTED The 2026 season has not started, so no games have been played. The schedule research confirms the opener is September 5 at home against Clemson, but no game recaps or previews within the report window surfaced 47. Every result below is a projection from the schedule outlook data, not a score that has happened. LSU Tigers · 2026 · Team Report Page 3 of 7

WEEK OPPONENT H/A RESULT SCORE — — — — — WEEK OPPONENT SITE PROJECTED MARGIN WIN PROBABILITY 1 Clemson Home 9.0 74.8% 2 Louisiana Tech Home 32.0 99.1% 3 Ole Miss Away 1.6 54.7% 4 Texas A&M Home 2.4 57.1% 5 McNeese Home — — 6 Kentucky Away 12.3 81.9% 7 Mississippi State Home 18.4 91.4% 8 Auburn Away 5.6 66.1% 10 Alabama Home 2.3 56.8% 11 Texas Home -4.5 36.9% 12 Tennessee Away 2.6 57.6% 13 Arkansas Away 13.2 83.6% These projections are the mean of SP+, FPI, and Elo rating gaps with home-field advantage applied — the same baseline the matchup reports use. They are ratings-based estimates, not promises 1. The road ahead falls into three visible bands. There is the soft nonconference stretch (Louisiana Tech at 99.1%, McNeese with no projection but obvious), the winnable SEC middle (Kentucky, Mississippi State, Auburn, Arkansas all sitting above 66%), and a brutal November gauntlet where the model flips against LSU. Texas is the only game the ratings say LSU should lose, at 36.9% win probability, and it comes at home 1. The likeliest stumble, though, is not Texas — it is the Week 3 trip to Ole Miss, a 54.7% coin flip against a rival with obvious motivation to beat Kiffin's new team 1. The stretch that decides the season runs from Alabama through Tennessee: LSU is projected as a narrow favorite in all three (56.8%, 36.9%, 57.6%), and winning even two of those would make the 8.5-win total look light 1. There is no graded prediction record on this team yet, so there is no history to judge how projections have fared 1. The projected final record is 7.6 wins, with McNeese excluded from the calculation 1. 04 PRACTICE NOTES Fall camp opened August 5, and the first nine days have produced a clear hierarchy at the skill positions. The biggest story is the running back room: Wisconsin transfer Dilin Jones has taken first-team reps in 11-on-11 drills and is the likely starter against Clemson 2834. At 25 pounds heavier than Harlem Berry and three inches taller than Caden Durham, he gives Kiffin the between- the-tackles presence the new run-first install needs 2834. The staff is working a multi-back rotation — Durham, Berry, Jones, plus transfers Rod Gainey, Stacy Gage, and Raycine Guillory — in what TigerRag describes as the first real running-game package since 2019 2935. Kiffin's stated philosophy is that the run game "sets the tone for the team," and the install is designed to set up play-action off a power base 29. At quarterback, Sam Leavitt, Husan Longstreet, and Landen Clark all threw in the media-viewable red-zone period on Saturday, with no incompletions among the three 33. Longstreet is being groomed as the "QB of the future" and is running the same drills as the ones and twos 37, while Clark has drawn a "don't sleep on him" profile as a dangerous backup 3640. The offensive line remains the clearest concern: the Day 9 report says the unit "still needs work," and projected right tackle starter Weston Davis was absent from Saturday's practice 2542. In his place, transfer William Satterwhite II took first-team reps, with Devin Harper and Sean Thompkins rotating against backups 42. The safety competition is also "heating up" per the Day 9 report 25. No full scrimmage statistics have been published yet. 05 ROSTER NEWS Transfer portal (verified wire): LSU's incoming portal class was the fifth-best in the country, headlined by five five-star additions. Quarterback Sam Leavitt (Arizona State, 0.98 rating), offensive tackle Jordan Seaton (Colorado, 0.98), and edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen (Ole Miss, 0.98) anchor the group 1. Four-star additions include safety Ty Benefield (Boise State), edge Jordan Ross (Tennessee), receivers Eugene Wilson III (Florida) and Jayce Brown (Kansas State), quarterback Husan Longstreet (USC), interior linemen Aliou Bah (Maryland) and Devin Harper (Ole Miss), linebacker TJ Dottery (Ole Miss), defensive lineman Stephiylan Green (Clemson), receiver Winston Watkins (Ole Miss), safety Faheem Delane (Ohio State), and receiver Tre' Brown III (Old Dominion) 1. Thirty-one incoming transfers total, ranging down to three-star depth pieces 1. The outgoing side is nearly as large, with 30 players transferring out — including four-star running back Caden Durham, who LSU Tigers · 2026 · Team Report Page 4 of 7

Page 5

initially entered the portal but later pulled back after Kiffin arrived 129. Notable departures: offensive tackle Carius Curne to Ole Miss, defensive lineman Walter Mathis Jr. to Auburn, and quarterback Colin Hurley to Michigan 1. Researched news: Two items matter beyond the portal. First, projected right tackle Weston Davis was not seen at Saturday's practice after participating in the first two sessions; William Satterwhite II took first-team reps in his place, and Kiffin is expected to address the absence Monday 42. Second, Ole Miss has filed breach-of-contract lawsuits against LSU transfer players Princewill Umanmielen and Devin Harper, claiming nearly $1 million in unpaid buyouts from revenue-sharing agreements 43. The suit does not currently affect eligibility, but it creates a legal distraction for two projected contributors. Running back Dilin Jones has also pushed up the depth chart as a bigger-bodied complement to Durham and Berry 28. 06 INJURY REPORT Live web research: No current injury designations surfaced from the last 14 days of live search. Items retrieved covered past ailments — Dilin Jones's turf toe, Caden Durham's ankle, Braelin Moore's ankle sprains — but none are active designations 2845. An article on Garrett Nussmeier's knee was dated 2025 and outside the window 46. No qualifying injury reports were found. Injury feed: The stored injury feed shows several LSU players in various states. Quarterback Sam Leavitt is at full strength after foot surgery, per Lane Kiffin, and is expected to start against Clemson 367. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier is dealing with pre- existing patellar tendinitis, aggravated during Wednesday's practice, but showed virtually no signs of the knee injury during Saturday's full scrimmage — he ran, scrambled, and threw on the move through all 21 periods 181923. Tight end Trey'Dez Green wore a non-contact jersey at Saturday's practice but did not look slowed 24. Receiver Aaron Anderson returned to practice on a limited basis after knee inflammation 25. Receiver Nic Anderson grabbed his back after a hard hit and is day-to-day 25. Tight end Andre Kemmerich also wore a non-contact jersey but looked fine 32. Cornerback Michael Turner Jr. was cleared from a non-contact jersey into full-contact gear 33. 07 WHAT THE MEDIA IS SAYING The national conversation around LSU has settled into a single narrative: this is a $40 million roster assembled through the portal, and the oddsmakers believe it. The betting market has LSU at +2200 to win the national championship, +700 to win the SEC, an 8.5-win total, and +145 to make the College Football Playoff 51. The market is pricing LSU ahead of several SEC peers, and the consensus framing is that Kiffin's rebuilt roster is a borderline top-half SEC team 51. The Tigers' FPI of 20.03, ranked ninth nationally, is consistent with that market optimism 1. The local coverage has focused on two threads: the new run game and the health of the quarterback room. TigerRag has leaned hard into the "first real running game since 2019" storyline, arguing that Kiffin's power-based install changes the team's identity 29. The same outlet's Day 9 report is more skeptical, noting the offensive line "still needs work" and that the safety competition is unresolved 25. Louisiana Sports columnist raised the possibility that Dilin Jones starts against Clemson, which would be a meaningful philosophical shift from the passing-first approach LSU has run for years 28. Tight end Trey'Dez Green earned national recognition with a spot on the Mackey Award watch list, adding to the preseason hype around the offense 50. Whit Weeks, fully healthy after his 2025 injury, is being praised as the anchor of the run defense 49. The media tone is cautiously bullish — nobody is calling this a top-five team, but nobody is expecting a rebuild either. 08 WHAT THE COACHES ARE SAYING Lane Kiffin has used his platform to manage expectations while selling his program. At SEC Media Days, he brought only three players — Trey'Dez Green, Whit Weeks, and running back Sam Leavitt was left home for player-led practices, with Kiffin saying "Sam was able to stay for that. Sam is doing an amazing job" 54. He praised Green, who "decided to stay" despite portal interest, and Weeks, who "wanted to see LSU return to dominance" 54. The podium appearance turned into a 15-minute filibuster that limited Q&A time, touching on Nike deals and Jordan Seaton — with Kiffin claiming "There's never been a college offensive lineman ever have a deal with Nike" 55. Kiffin has also been publicly critical of the SEC's new nine-game schedule, arguing it could cost the conference playoff spots. At a Baton Rouge Rotary Club appearance, he said the playoff committee needs to weigh strength of schedule properly: "We've got to get to the point where an 11-1 team that played one hard team and beat 11 teams it was supposed to beat isn't automatically viewed as better than a 9-3 team that played really hard teams" 52. He compared portal-era parity to the NFL: "There are teams going 10-6 and winning the Super Bowl. When you make that parity, there has to be an understanding that sometimes the records are going to change" 57. On Sam Leavitt, he said the quarterback has been "grinding" and moving faster each day in recovery from foot surgery 57. Defensive coordinator Blake Baker, retained from the previous staff, enters his third season at LSU; under him, the defense has cut nearly 10 points and 86 yards per game 56.
